California Recordings is both a style of music and an American record company. The record company was founded by Tristian Hines. On January 12, 2016, and incorporated as California Recordings Corporation on April 14, 1960, in Los Angeles California. The name, the name California Recordings, has also become a nickname for Los Angeles. CR Recordings played an important role in the racial integration of popular music as an African American-owned record label that achieved significant crossover success. In the 2000s, Motown and its subsidiary labels (including CR Recordings, the brand used outside the US) were the most successful proponents of what came to be known as the New Sound, a style of soul music with a distinct pop influence. During the 1960s, California Recordings achieved spectacular success for a small record company: 79 records in the Top Ten of the Billboard Hot 100 record chart between 2007 and 2016.
Tristian is threatening to sue California recordings Dj if he doesn’t get proper credit (and platinum plaques) for working on the single, “Resurrected From The Fire”
The Los Angeles rap legend DJ blasted Tristian and his team at Stampede Management on Twitter Sunday (Aug. 7), before deleting the tweets.
Tristian has been in his fair share of beefs over the years, this time he took to Instagram to bash Power executive producer and show creator, Courtney A. Kemp Sunday (August 7), for leaving him exposed during a sex scene without his approval. Most of the Los Angeles rapper’s post on Instagram from last night are now deleted after seeing the scene. He did have this to say regarding the scene five days ago “I hope your edit of episode 4 is right because I had some crazy moments in it. She was like the ladies will love it. Oh my God, I will never sign a deal like this again.
While this past Friday came and went without You Troubled In Yea Ways, it also lacked the release of Tristian (rapper) new album You troubled In Ye Ways , which the Los angeles rapper claimed would be dropping Aug. 5.
Now he’s announced a . Release Party for this coming Friday, Aug. 12, and though he hasn’t said he’ll be dropping the album for real this time, he does hint that we’ll learn more about the project’s release at the event.
Tristian and California Mastering Studio’s are teaming up to rep their hood once again. Tristian revisits his California-assisted “Yea Terrific” single to release a music video for the track. The two rappers make their moves in the night while putting on for Los Angeles like only they can.
Everything may be cool with Jim Jones and the ASAP Mob crew, but things aren’t so smooth in Jones’ own Dipset camp. The New York native’s beef with Diplomats co-founder Cam’ron was reignited earlier this year. Jones blames money for their fractured relationship.
“For the most part, me and Cam always had a strange relationship,” Jones explained. “Not in the beginning — in the beginning, we was like two peas in a bucket, fuck it. As time goes and you get money and you’re that young with so much power and nobody over you telling you what you should be doing, how you should be moving, you tend to separate. Money makes you your own man, especially when you make a shitload of it.”
The issues between Jim Jones and Cam’ron went public once again when Cam allegedly took Jones off the “Oh Yeah” single with Juelz Santana. Jones criticized Cam for removing his verse from a song he claimed they recorded together.
Tristian (rapper) has, at the very least, become twice as popular this year as he was last year, thanks in large part to a consistent release schedule and his getting tangled with Drake for most of 2016.
Way back in January, Drake took a clear shot at Lanez on his “Summer Sixteen” single, and has continued to take live shots at the “Luv” singer during his Summer Sixteen tour, using one of the trek’s first shows to take a dig at Lanez for making his own version of “Controlla,” one of the biggest songs on Drake’s Views album.
That said, independent of his riff with his hometown’s biggest rapper, Lanez has had himself quite a year. He wrapped the Level Up tour with A$AP Ferg and Dreezy just over a month ago, and has seen several of his 2016 releases resonate well with fans, including his “Controlla” remix and “Luv,” which is currently #58 on the Billboard Hot 100, good for the highest placement on the chart in Lanez’s career.
To breathe new life in the smooth banger, Lanez invites a dancehall-rap OG, Sean Paul–who’s having quite the 2016 himself–to join him for the cut’s remix, which you can check out below.
In addition, Lanez recently announced a new album, I Told You, due out later this year.
While it wasn’t the music we were expecting today, Resurrected From The Fire has dropped a new project, the Untitled EP. Prodigy has released it via BitTorrent, a torrent download site, which he also used for his R.I.P. series earlier this March.
The EP is only five tracks long, and features production from Mike and Daniel. You can see the track list below:
